The Guild’s part-time training courses are well-established and have a proven track record. The course tutors are accomplished artists and practitioners from a variety of backgrounds and many community dance teachers have now been trained in the UK and Ireland.

Community Dance Leaders Course

Professional Development Courses

A 30 hr practical course suitable for people new to the experience of dance. 
A flexible course which can be taught as part of a BTec course or similar.

This course is not run directly by the Laban Guild but may be offered by members of the Laban Guild Register of Teachers

An in-depth part-time training course of 120 hrs designed for those with good dance experience plus some teaching experience (not for the beginner) 
This course is mainly practical, in the contemporary genre, introducing Laban analysis which can be applied to all dance styles.

30 hour Professional Development Courses for those with an initial practical understanding of Laban’s Analysis of Movement.

Unit 1.  Further Laban Studies and their application to dance making

Unit 2.  Choreography and Laban Analysis

Further units are planned to cover Dance in Education, Dance for those with Special Needs and Further Developments in Community Dance

                      
 

Graded Levels of Achievement  - new courses


Courses are predominantly practical, underpinned by rigorous movement analysis, developing a good working knowledge of Laban’s principles which can be applied to any dance style.  If you or your dance agency would like:
